Navachethana trust is a non-profit, non-commercial voluntary organisation established to impart self help education to the mentally challenged children. A creative center for mentally challenged, this organisation was registered in 2001 with a vision "To make the lives of mentally and physically challenged better, by preparing them to face the world with confidence and courage."
We accommodate children from different walks of life, which include the economically weaker sections of the society, the mentally and physically challenged, and also children having multiple disorders.
Started with 5 children, Navachethana's strength today has grown up to 78, supported by a highly trained and professional workforce. We have a team of well trained and dedicated teachers providing quality education to children who hail from a variety of social backgrounds.

To equip and educate our Special Children with modern standards
Abide by the theoretical and practical training based on their capability to learn. Our special teaching method is categorized into three levels of capability- Mild, Moderate and Severe. Apart from the basic learning, children made to take active participation in extracurricular activities such as sports, singing, dancing and crafting. The motive behind this is to boost their confidence.
The founder of Navachethana Trust, Mrs. Vijaya Nayak, involved herself in social service from the age of 19. In 2001, Navachethana was initiated in a single room with 5 children and 3 staff members. Within one year, the number of children and staff members increased to 24 and 5 and Navachethana moved to a new premise in the prime location of Bengaluru. Children were enrolled by a door-to-door survey in the surrounding areas
Till date, 202 students are enrolled out of which 78 attend regularly, supported by 8 highly trained and professional staff members, 5 sub-staff and 7 office staff. Out of the 202, 18 children are integrated into normal schools.
We are in the process of adding more opportunities.
